Automatic sychronization between players in multiplayer #2
Comments
yes thanks, I will investigate doing so it would involve making it work server side, so no promises :P |
if you did this maybe having it as a companion mod and including some other features that'd be needed by both server and client? such as starcharts, static telescopes, and sextants? |
a companion mod is probably a decent way of doing it |
It would be nice if there was also a server side paper bridge as well. |
apparently this mod has existed for a while and noone told me lol https://modrinth.com/mod/almanac-for-spyglass-astronomy its not automatic but its probably decent (i havent tested it, but i did read its description and skim through the source and it seems reasonable) |
The mod author hasn't replied to this for a bit, but it seems that it's not marked serverside, causing a crash whenever it's loaded on the server- is there any possibility you'd know how to patch that/refer me to somewhere I could learn to implement it? |
This has not changed right? |
there is still no automatic syncing, but i believe the mod linked above does now work |
This is a wonderful mod that adds a lot of immersion to the game, but I think the process of sharing of constellations/names can be significantly improved.
I feel like an instant syncronization between players would be a good direction for this mod. Any player would be able add anything to a night sky for everyone to instantly see. This would turn the sky into a giant community canvas.
