I've been trying to figure out how to make the search addon look presentable under dark mode on the PyData theme and can't seem to get it. There are some variables exposed that I found from reading #282 and looking at https://github.com/readthedocs/addons/blob/main/src/search.css. Unfortunately, this still doesn't allow me to get to an acceptable solution as I haven't been able to figure out how to format the result headings/content/hover stuff. I'm not very familiar with CSS, so there may be an easy way to do this that's eluding me.
Hi @thephez! Thanks for opening this issue. We've been discussing and working a lot to allow customization patterns on the addons, but we haven't arrived at a place where it's useful/comfortable for all the parts involved. That means that this type of customization is not supported yet. We are working on figuring it out to provide a solution to our users.
I'm going to close this issue in favor of #420 since it looks duplicated. I wrote a question there asking for more feedback. I will appreciate your reply there 🙏🏼
