Since this project is pretty much abandoned now, I'd like to suggest an easy alternative

Since ios 14 you can use ios' built in DOH resolver, and configure it using .mobileconfig profile files downloaded via browser. There is a large collection of this profiles at this page.

Download the file via your phone browser, and install it via settings menu.

It'll looks like this

Installed profiles can be managed via settings app in VPN, DNS and device management page (located in general section)

It doesn't have the advanced settings of dnscloack app (redirection, etc), but it gets the job done and doesn't cause any problems with tethered devices.
