Checklist (we expect you to perform these steps before opening the issue)

  • I have searched for a similar issue in this repository and did not find one.
  • I am using an official build obtained from releases or updated one of those builds using its in-app updater.
  • I have re-dumped the game and performed a clean install without mods and the issue is still present.
  • I have disabled all patches and cheats and the issue is still present.
  • I have all the required system modules installed.

Describe the Bug

The stutter is somewhat random but it does occur at least once every 5 seconds. Its like a total freeze that lasts for approx half a second and seems to momentarily freeze the audio aswell.

Further below is a link to a video of an example of it occuring. This video is taken from the 0.5.1 release of shadps4, however the same bug is on the 0.6 release aswell. When downgrading to 0.5.0 the issue is nonexistent.

My specs are as follow
GPU: RTX 2060 super
CPU: i5-9600K CPU @ 3.70GHz 3.70 GHz
16gb ram

Again i want to reiterate that the only difference between not having the bug occur and having the bug occur is the version of shadps4. I have the exact same patches and settings on, and when i switch to a newer version the problem instantly starts occuring. It does not occur on 0.5.0.

Reproduction Steps

Updating to 0.5.1 and onwards causes the issue.

I can also confirm similar issue as shown in video - random stutters which were not present in older build on 5800X3D, RTX 3080 10GB, 32GB RAM, Win 11 24H2, 566.36 nVidia driver version. Not as intense and often as shown in OP's video, but definitely noticeable stuttering which was not happening before.

Are ou able to do a fresh install of bloodborne (extract it again with shadPS4) and start it without any mods and patches ?
And also with a clean install of shadPS4.

It shouldn't take long to do and it can help solve some problems.

Also and every time please be sure drivers is up to date (don't need to update W11 to the last version)

On my system, Windows 10 (22H2), i5 6400, gtx 1060 3gb driver (551.61), 16gb ram. I ran into a similar problem, except for the time interval for staters/friezes. The sound doesn't stutter that often, but it happens too. I've seen a similar problem before, in previous versions of the emulator. I understand that my configuration is weak enough for shadps4, but... Can you tell me if there is any way to get rid of the friezes, or if it's because I don't have enough resources?

I would like to note the fact that the characteristic state of the game is most pronounced only with a patch for 60fps. 30fps works a little more stable, but it does not completely eliminate friezes and the appearance of various irregularities on the graph of the frame time.

@Hermiten This is an invalid issue, as the test was performed with patches applied, and without any firmware libraries installed. This should be closed until a valid test with a log shows up.

@Hermiten i did make a fresh install and tested it on the 0.5.1 version, same issue. This leads me to think its a conflict with my hardware and the emu.

Did you turn off hyperthreading? Last time I turned off Hyper-Threading, like you, it was normal after I turned it on.

@lmutig Unfortunately, my processor does not support hyperthreading. Perhaps this is the reason for the appearance of friezes, in the emulator.

I have the same problem for newer versions of shadps4, in v 0.5 everything is good. if the problem is for hyperthreading, this feature must be enabled or disabled based on the system it's running on.
