Guidelines

  • I have encountered this bug in the latest release of FreeTube.
  • I have searched the issue tracker for open and closed issues that are similar to the bug report I want to file, without success.
  • I have searched the documentation for information that matches the description of the bug I want to file, without success.
  • This issue contains only one bug.

Describe the bug

Hello. Personally I like to keep my Freetube data directory in my Data/Freetube folder (Data is personal folder I made, not the internal android data folder). The issue is whenever I try to set FreetubeAndroid to that folder, it give me an error: "Error while moving directory". It works when I set it to top level directories (ie: the Data Folder) but it doesn't work with sub folders. Its not a big issue, but it would be nice to have.

Expected Behavior

Set FreetubeAndroid's Data Directory to a subfolder without error.

That being said. I would suggest trying the latest nightly if you are experiencing this issue bc it should fix this problem. https://github.com/MarmadileManteater/FreeTubeAndroid/actions/runs/12680953976

It seems it is working, thanks 😁
Android settings folder is interchangeable with desktop folder, right? At least from first glance it does work.

It works. The only thing to be careful about when syncing is that the desktop folder contains a bunch of big files that are useless in the android version, so if u are syncing files, sync only the .db files in the desktop folder with ur android data directory.

Even better, only .db synced. Changed that for syncing between desktops and android. Works well. Thank you!
